Citadel: Contrast Basilicanum Grey (18Ml)

This shade is a workhorse for any grey armor or stone—one coat over a light primer and the recesses just do the shading for you. The 18ml bottle has lasted through a whole squad and then some, so it’s decent value for the coverage. I keep reaching for it over other greys now.

The consistency is a bit thinner than I expected for a contrast paint, but it still does a decent job shading my space marine armor. 18ml is plenty for a few squads, though I wish it had a bit more pigment density for one-coat coverage.

The coverage is decent but I found it needs two thin coats on larger flat armor panels to avoid a patchy finish. It works well enough for recessed details on the first pass.
