BattleTech: A Time of War

The character creation system is incredibly detailed, letting me build exactly the kind of mercenary commander I've always wanted. The rules for resolving combat between 'Mechs and infantry feel much more cinematic than the old board game.

I've been diving into the 31st-century setting and the rulebook's faction lore feels richer than I expected for a miniatures game. The detailed descriptions of the star empires really help set the stage for battles. Just wish the core book included a few more scenario maps to jump right into the act

Picked this up mostly for the lore, and the timeline of the 31st-century empires alone is worth it for a fan of the setting. The miniature quality is decent, just wish the box had a few more pieces for the price.
