Quick answer
For Arbites players who want team rules and equipment options in one pack, the Exaction Squad datacards are the better fit. If you run Adeptus Astartes Scouts and want a quick-reference set for abilities, weapons, and special rules, the Scout Squad datacards are the right pick.
What each card pack actually covers
The Exaction Squad pack is built around deployment: it includes team selection rules, operative datacards, faction-specific abilities, and universal equipment options. That makes it a compact rules reference for getting your Arbites team onto the table and keeping key abilities visible.
The Scout Squad pack focuses on in-game reference for your operatives. It contains datacards for the Adeptus Astartes Scout Squad, covering abilities, weapons, and special rules in a quick-reference format. If you already know how to select your team, this pack keeps the moment-to-moment rules at hand.
Price and value trade-off
At catalog prices, the Exaction Squad datacards cost less, while the Scout Squad set costs more. The gap is modest, so the real decision is which team you actually play and whether you need the broader deployment reference or the focused operative reference.
Neither pack includes miniatures or a full codex; they are reference aids. If you are still deciding between teams, buy the cards only after you have committed to a faction, because the contents are team-specific.
Decision trade-offs
- Team-specific contents: Exaction Squad cards only work for that faction, and Scout Squad cards only work for Scouts. Choose the pack that matches the team you are building or already own.
- Breadth vs. focus: The Exaction pack includes team selection rules and equipment options, while the Scout pack concentrates on operative datacards and special rules. Pick the Exaction pack if you want a broader deployment reference; pick the Scout pack if you mainly need in-game stat lines.
- Budget check: The Exaction Squad datacards are cheaper at catalog price, but only if you play that team. Paying more for Scout cards makes sense only when Scouts are your active kill team. Buy for the team you play this month, not the one you might start later.
